Medical Billing

Filed under: Marketing, Medical + More, School of Insurance @ 9:33 am

The medical business has changed significantly in the past few years. It presents many administrative difficulties with the preparation complicated insurance claim forms and knowledge of insurance company policies. To avoid these complexities, doctors look out for outside help. They hire representatives to advise them, attend insurance company seminars, and provide them with regular financial reports. This is called medical billing outsourcing. It has become a thriving business.

When you are looking for a course to train to become a medical billing specialist, you should be sure to find one that is accredited. Some programs that are advertised are really not all that great. The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) website has a list of approved medical coding courses that you can choose from, including certificate, associate, and bachelors programs. Billing is a sub specialty of coding, so it is best if you attend a course that trains you in both as you will have more opportunities in the future. There are courses that you can do from home, either online or based on self study through course materials, as well as both day and evening courses. Certificate programs require nine to twelve months to complete, associates degree programs require two years, and bachelors degree programs require four years to complete.

Completing insurance paperwork is time-consuming and sometimes confusing. Each diagnosis and procedure must be assigned a proper code for the insurance company to pay the claim. An assistant in a doctor’s office may not have the proper training to complete this paperwork. The doctor does not receive any of this training in medical school. Outsourcing this work allows staff to focus on patients, scheduling and managing files. In addition, a person only working on claims does not have these distractions. They become familiar with the insurance company’s policies and procedures.

So the next time you are in the doctor’s office for a exam, remember all the work that goes on behind the scenes and beyond the doctor’s diagnosis. It’s not just the receptionists, the nurses, and the doctor’s that this visit is affecting. The best thing that you can do to make your visit go smoother is to bring your insurance card with you each time you go to your doctor’s office. The medical billing services people will be very grateful and thankful that you thought of them.

911 Faqs And More Questions

Filed under: World Of News @ 5:47 am

The number 911 has been in the news quite frequently in the last couple of years.

911 is the emergency number dialed by people when they need fire, police or ambulance assistance in a hurry. In the year 911 the Lower Seine area was ceded to the Norse invaders under Hrolf Ranger as the Duchy of Normandy (treaty of St Claire sur Epte).

Anastasius III became Pope from 911-913.

The Danes started the towv of Drogheda in Ireland.

9 11 also stands for the horrendous attack by terrorists on New York City and the Pentagon in which thousands of people were murdered.

Here are some pertinent questions that to this day still have not been answered:

Why did the FBI stop their investigation in Mid 1996 of two of Osama bin Laden’s relatives in Washington and a Muslim organisation, the World Assembly of Muslim Youth?

Was it because they had orders from higher up to stop any investigations related to the Bin Laden Family?

Why did George W.Bush give the order to stop inquiries into the terrorist connections of the Bin Laden family based in the US and abroad in early 2001?

Why did the US Government allow all the Bin Laden Family members to fly out of the US while all other air-Traffic was grounded? Was it because the Bin Laden family has been funding the Bush family politically for a long time?

Why did none of the 19 hijackers appear on the passenger lists involved in the 4 hijjacked planes? Can you explain, why none of the indestructible Black Boxes have been found at any of the crash centers? When was the last time George H.W. Bush travelled to the Middle East on behalf of the privately owned Carlyle Group, one of the largest defense contractors in the U.S. and what was the purpose of that meeting? If we knew that there was a terrorist attack going on, which we did, and we suddenly have two trade towers in New York being obviously hit by terrorist activity, and we also knew of commercial airliners changing course from Boston to Los Angeles, then where was the response of the defense establishment once we saw the diversion of the aircraft headed west from Dulles turning around 180 degrees and, likewise, in the aircraft taking off from Newark and, in flight, turning 180 degrees?

Answer:

Commenting from CNN on the timeline, 9:03 is the correct time that the United Airlines flight crashed into the south tower of the World Trade Center; 9:43 is the time that American Airlines flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon. And 10:10 a.m. is the time that United Airlines flight 93 crashed in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

Discrepancies between Joint Chiefs of Staff investigations and findings of the 9/11 commission:

There was a highly classified United States Special Operations Command program under the command of the U.S. Special Operations Command .It was created as a result of a directive from the Joint Chiefs’ of Staff in early October 1999 by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Hugh Shelton ,to develop an Information Operations Campaign Plan against transnational terrorism, “specifically al-Qaida.” According to statements by Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer and confirmed by four others, Able Danger had identified the September 11, 2001 attack leader Mohamed Atta , and three of the 9/11 plot’s 19 hijackers, as possible members of an al Qaeda cell linked to the ‘93 World Trade Center Attacks.

The group used all information legally collected under the rule of law. Primarily consisting of classified information, all publicly obtained information was approved after a legal review of SOCOM lawyers. The early identification of the four hijackers by Able Danger appears to contradict the official conclusion of the 9/11 Commission, that American intelligence agencies had not identified Atta as a terrorist prior to the attack. This has resulted in a political controversy that has begun to damage the credibility of the bipartisan 9/11 Commission.

J Shipper is very interested in politics and the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America.

After Katrina - Seven Things You Can Do

Filed under: World Of News @ 1:58 am

If you are like me, you are living some distance from the devastation wrought by Katrina. If you are like me you not physically impacted and can watch the plight of others on television in the comfort of your home. And if you are like me, you are wondering what you can do.

I believe the answer to that question is an important one. It can help define who you are and what you have and choose to give to the world. The list that follows is not meant to stimulate your thinking. It is meant to stimulate action. All of us can do all of these things. And in doing them we will not only be helping others, we will be helping ourselves deal with and grow from these events as well.

Give Resources. You have heard it and will hear it often. The resources required by these events will be unprecedented. Open your wallet and give. It doesn’t matter which charity you choose, just give. Pick a number, then add to it. Do a search on Katrina relief to find places to contribute. You can give more than money though. Perhaps you have other resources that you could offer. Spare blankets or other supplies will inevitably be leaving from your community in the coming days. Watch for these announcements and donate. If you know someone affected, or know someone who knows someone, perhaps you can provide a spare bedroom. You can even support relief efforts each time you search the internet. Go to http://allgive.com to search and learn more.

Give Yourself. If your situation allows, perhaps you feel drawn to go and help. If you are thinking about that and you can, go. Many of us won’t be able to go and lend a hand directly. You can still give of time and talents locally and have a direct impact on efforts there. Organizations like The Salvation Army and The Red Cross will be spread thin for months. If you volunteer in your town, more physical resources can remain on the Gulf Coast longer.

Encourage Others to Give. This is a way for you to give of your talents. Use the leadership and influence skills that you have to encourage others to give. If you own a business, match employee contributions to relief efforts. If you are involved in any sort of organization, start a fund raising effort. A colleague of mine sent an email saying he would match any gifts given by those on his list up to a total of $500. Every person could do this. Ask yourself who you could influence and how you could personally help increase giving. Get creative! And get started.

Say a Prayer. Regardless of your religious beliefs, or how you would state this, say a prayer. Say one for those who have lost family. For those who have lost their homes. For those who are sick or thirsty or hungry. And say a special prayer those involved in rescue and recovery efforts - those giving of themselves to make things better for others.

Keep Your Perspective. It is sometimes hard to keep a healthy perspective as you watch the events on television. It is easy to let the worry and concern become overwhelming. Do yourself a favor and don’t let these events overpower your life. Be grateful for your situation. Rethink how upset or frustrated you become at little inconveniences or challenges, because these situations mean little in the bigger scheme of things, and the events of recent days should make this very clear to us.

Conserve. Our country is going to be dealing with the aftermath of Katrina for a long time. There are other little things that we can do that will make a difference. Conserve fuel. Carpool to work. Combine your errands, or just stay home. Turn off your air conditioning and turn off the lights. Fossil fuels will be in short supply and every little bit helps. Plus every dollar you don’t spend on fuel, is another dollar you could choose to donate to relief efforts.

Give Again, Later. Many will give now, but agencies like The Red Cross will tell you that after the situation leaves most people’s conscious thoughts, the needs will still be great. Make a commitment now to make another contribution later in the year. One way to do this is to reduce your holiday spending and earmarking the difference for Katrina relief.

I’m sure there are many more things that you can do to help both yourself and others in the coming weeks. It matters less what you do than that you do something. That is my urging to you. You can make a difference, but only if you take action.

One of the ways I am taking my own advice to “Encourage Others to Give” is by offering you (and anyone you know) a choice of a 6 month membership to our Powerquotes Plus service, a $30 value, or a seat in our tele-seminar, The Leader as a Coach, a $49 value, if you simply let us know you made any donation at all. 15 Tips to Bring More Traffic to Your Blog

Filed under: Web of Blogs @ 8:33 am

There are many factors that make blogs much better than normal WebPages including the speed at which blogs are indexed, ability to submit to blog directories & normal directories, pings and track backs. All these little things can help drive more traffic to blogs. Here are 15 popular techniques you can use:

1. Create at least four keyword posts per day. Most of the top blogs such as Boing Boing, Daily Kos, and Instapundit (with literally tens of thousands of visitors per day) publish an average of 30 small 100-150 word posts per day according to “Secrets of the A-list Bloggers: Lots of Short Posts” by TNL.net

2. Submit to My Yahoo! When you submit your own RSS to My Yahoo it is indexed by Yahoo.

3. Submit to Google’s Reader. When you submit your own blog RSS to Google’s Reader the Google Blog Search will index your site.

4. Add a relevant link directory to your blog and trade links like a demon possessed! Although it may take more time than simply submitting to a search engine one time, this method is perhaps the best way to drive traffic to your site. Use software such as Zeus to speed up the link trading process.

5. Use ping sites like ping-o-matic. Ping your site every time you add a new post.

6. Submit your blog to traditional search engines such as AltaVista, and MSN.

7. Submit your blog to traditional directories such as DMOZ. Directories (particularly DMOZ) increase relevance with Google. DMOZ is very picky, but what do you have to lose by trying?

8. Submit to as many RSS Directories and Search Engines as possible. This is a simple but repetitive process that can be done with software such as RSS SUBMIT.

9. Comment on other blogs. Do not just leave short, lazy comments like “I agree.” Leave well thought out replies that will force readers to wonder “who wrote this?”

10. Use track backs. If there is a blog that you refer to or quote and it is highly relevant to your subject, leave a track back. It increases your link popularity and may even score a few interested readers from the linked site.

11. Go offline. Use newspaper ads, public bulletin boards, business cards, even stickers to let as many people as possible know your blog exists.

12. Add a link to your blog in your e-mail signature block.

13. Use Groups (Usenet). Find a relevant group on Google groups, Yahoo groups, MSN groups or any of the thousands of other FREE group services and find like minded people and talk with them. Make sure to use your blog URL like it is your name.

14. Use Forums. Forums are one of the best places to go for advice. Go to forums and find problems to solve. Make sure you leave your blog name, but be tactful about it; some forums get annoyed with those who selfishly drop a few links to their own site and leave.

15. Tag your website. Tagging is a new idea that has erupted across the web. Sites like Del.icio.us, Technorati and many others have a social feature that allows you to place your article under keywords or “tags” that everyone interested in that tag can see.

Regain Spirit, Choose a Human Hair Wig That’s Right

Browsing womens wigs on or offline could fall short of a dream come true. Take it from me, this middle class gal happy to be alive with unfortunate alopecia. I hold pride because I regularly wear a few favorite lace wigs from my collection. I’ve got a hunch you can regain confidence after experiencing the look of quality human hair wigs. I’ve seem them do wonders for so many successful people who appreciate them.

There’s a good chance a lot of you have expressed some of the exact concerns as I did. “Can it match my hairline?” along with “A wig, can you be serious?” were my initial concerns, most definitely. These knee jerk reactions can be troublesome if you take the time to relax to understand how many natural and attractive possibilities are on the market. Wigs for womens hair loss with actual hair, give their wearers of all types with confidence. There’s nothing to dwell about! Never seen a well done wig? Simply ’cause people don’t notice from a person’s actual hair.

I’ll offer the essential wig selection critereon a woman may implement yourself. Hands down the best wigs are lace front. Wigs styled from human hair are roughly three times more expensive than fake wigs–why? They may be incredibly better on all counts! I definitely endorse them. However, on a budget, synthetic hair pieces can be a good option and worthy of your consideration.

As for msyelf, I prefer human hair wigs due to several reasons. They won’t be damaged by heat like synthetics and its easier to change and style on a daily basis. Not to mention, they don’t itch my shoulders.

Either way, conduct due diligence to find a wig which compliments your look, so you’ll own the look you’ve earned in confidence. Be less concerned about appearance, and even better, be confident with it on. As is the case in any fashion decision, your choice of wig expresses your style.
