Do You Get a Stronger Chance of Winning the Lottery Draw if You Belong to a Lotto Syndicate or Should You Bank on Your Own Lottery Numbers?

A Huge amount of individuals each week prefer to use the same lottery numbers; quite often these are birthdays, which in many countries can only cover a part of any potential lotto choices.

Can you decipher the code applying your own unique strategy or rely on an e-lottery syndicate to decide them on your behalf? We unrealistically like to believe that if we don’t do anything or maybe do it the wrong way that something bad might happen, in this case; if we miss doing our numbers that week they are certain to come up!

Being the one to pick the lottery winning numbers is of course something each and every dedicated lotto player wants to do and as human beings, we all possess an innate bias against anything random, we like some form of control and conventions that make sense to us.

Just because a number seems to come up more frequently; that does not mean to say it will come up again! It’s nearly impossible to pluck any set of lotto numbers that are more or less likely to win. All lotteries are a game of chance and every lottery number picked is just at is hit-or-miss. So the upshot in that respect is - no one number is more random than another.

If you take a look at the rules of probability, as one number is picked the likelihood of your chosen number being picked afterwards is slightly increased because the possible selection is reduced.

Employing the same lotto numbers would mean you will have to play 135,000 times to even receive an evens chance of winning. Unfortunately, to win the lottery jackpot you will just have roughly a 1 in 14 million chance of being prosperous; yet we all think it could be us. Does that sound like a good prospect; would you be luckier signing up to a lottery syndicate?

If you decide on the same numbers every week, just remember they are still random numbers and you stand just as much a probability of winning with those same lotto numbers as with a lucky dip option. However, if you use birthday numbers in a lottery draw your chances of winning the jackpot still stay the same but then, likewise your individual prospect of keeping the lottery jackpot to yourself is significantly reduced because so many other individuals use birthday numbers in their selections.

Singles Dating Tips for Guys during the First Date

In today’s cyberspace - there are many other articles published around online singles dating tips for men and women. Below are some measures to help you on your first date.

First Step:

You shouldn’t act simply to impress her. You need to be yourself! You’re going to lose her interest if she has to focus on your act or attitude. Try to pretend that she is just a acquaintance and you aren’t trying to win her over, and perhaps you’ll be comfortable enough to more easily be yourself.

2nd Step:

Remember! 1st impressions definitely matter. Make sure she doesn’t think you will be a boring partner. You shouldn’t talk to much - and try to balance the conversation. Don’t just say yes or no to her inquiries, but you also don’t want to tell your life story either. If you only talk about yourself, then you will sound extremely vain and boring!

Third Tip -

You need to look confident on your first singles date. You need to make her feel like you are brilliant and fascinating. When you talk, you need to sound convincing, but not conceited. Don’t make her dislike you before she comes to experience you! You don’t want to make your first date, your last date!

For my last tip - you need to have fun with dating online! If you can, just try and forget your nervousness and envision she already knows you. Pretend like your not even on a date - but rather, simply hanging out with your friend. Hopefully your first date will be a unforgettable one.

Singles Know Sharing Positive Expectations Is Valuable for Dating

Now, Nobody can say I’m exactly comfortable living alone and remain an honest woman. But, I’m not uncomfortable about it, either. I only bring it up in this blog as an appetizing piece of info setting up the story I am about to reveal to you

Last Monday yours truly met for coffee with Sandy, pondering about joining the Phoenix Great Expectations dating service. Today, I write to my readers as a delightfully single member of the dating service. For real, I am. It’s full of fun, attractive people! If you have read my old blog, you may be wondering, “Stop blabbering and tell me about it already.”

Well, I saw these Great Expectations Reviews and felt encouraged. They’re for quality and professional singles who think dating isn’t a game.

Because in all honesty I’d never been a fan of the ridiculous nightlife ritual most people so aptly entitled “The Dating Game.” I got it all the time. Each night readers ask, “Are you two serious yet?” and “Oh I know just the guy for you!”

“That’s rubbish,” I say to them, smiling ear to ear. “Have you seen what’s out there?”

“Whatever doofus,” they deadpan. “How would you know, you haven’t seen Friday Night Magic in a year!”

Thankfully, that’s my sister (on a good day) :-P Stacey Wilson. She offers rational thought to my brain 99% of the time. Caring souls I depend on for fresh advice. Can’t argue with that, so I signed up.

Coming home to the meaning of this essay. As I picked from hundreds of combinations of outfits for my first Great Expectations date, something occurred to me that was quite true. Over the last year, I hadn’t entertained the greatest of literal great expectations for dating and myself in the fun-filled path of life. It’s good to be single, even more so with healthy optimism. Having great expectations does wonders for a caring soul.

I’m One Year Old and Thank Goodness for Sign Language

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 12:50 am

Hello! I’m one year old and I have just seen a beautiful car go by. Let me tell you how interesting I find this car. I will sign to you the sign language sign for CAR with a big grin on my face. That way, I’ll be able to share this exciting discovery with you - a noisy car just went by - how exciting!

Oh - what’s Mommy saying and signing now? It’s a RED CAR. How cool. RED. If Mommy shows me that new sign RED a few more times, I think I’ll be able to use it whenever I want. We’ve just been playing the sign language software at www.KiddiesSigns.com. So many interesting words there that I can use in my meaningful conversations with my Mommy.

When Mommy first heard about the activity of hearing parents signing with their hearing kids, she thought that it would delay my speech. She loved the idea of being able to communicate with me in sign language long before such communication would ever be possible with verbal speech. However, she did not want the joy of early, meaningful communication to come at the cost of delayed verbal speech. Then she read the research and instructions in the books “Baby Signs” by Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn and “Sign With Your Baby” by Joseph Garcia. These researchers showed that using sign language with hearing infants actually accelerates verbal speech development.

I suppose that when you think about it, it makes sense. My brain is just exploding with growth and development at the moment. The more I learn, the more I can learn. I’ve been trying out my verbal apparatus for a while now, but it is not yet ready for the fine-tuned use necessary for verbal speech language. However, my hands are ready for sign language, and are able to actually engage in meaningful communication using sign language. Well, I’m sure this just turbo charges the development of the “human language” part of my brain. It’s a part of the brain that scientific research has shown to be activated whether verbal language or sign language is being used. No wonder that my group of signing babies will be speaking verbally ahead of any group of non-signing babies.

Hee hee! I just closed a door. It’s very clever of me to do that. Let me tell you about it. I will sign to you the sign language sign that means CLOSE A DOOR. Who cares about those theoretical aspects of signing with babies. This is just so much fun to do. I love doing what I can do. I learn new things and new skills every day. And I just love being able to “talk” about them with Mommy in sign language. I have been flapping my arms and legs around in order to express myself ever since I was born. Sign language is so natural for me.

My older siblings find sign language fun too. Whenever I’m sitting down watching fun, musical sign language videos that have been produced especially for me, I find that my older brothers and sisters join me. They find it fun to use not just another language, but a language in another “mode”, in the visual-spatial channel. This must be the ultimate when it comes to being bilingual. It feels like a secret, magical language to them.

We sit and watch videos made especially for hearing babies and children, to teach us sign language, from www.SigningTime.com, www.BabySeeNSign.com, www.MyBabyCanTalk.com and www.SigningSmart.com.

My Mommy is delighted that my older siblings are interested in using sign language. She has read the results of extensive research done by Marilyn Daniels, in her book “Dancing With Words”. She found that sign language has the power to significantly improve the reading and writing literacy skills of school age children.

Mommy and Daddy sometimes join us watching the signing videos. Sign language is the language of Deaf people, but my Mommy and Daddy are not deaf. So watching videos is an easy way for them to learn new signs to use with me.

Of course, my siblings and I remember sign language signs faster than our parents. Our brains are wired to pick up languages the way a sponge soaks up water. However, in spite of having old brains, my parents find that they can easily pick up sign language signs too. My Mommy is also learning new signs and how to use signs with me by reading a book on baby signing. I’m not reading those books. I’m too busy now. I have to go and close the rest of the doors in the house. Later, we might go to a baby signing class with other Mommies and small kids.

Well, it’s been great all this playing and communicating today, but I’m getting tired and hungry now. Thank goodness I can tell my Mommy in sign language that I want MILK and a COOKIE. After that, I want my TEDDY BEAR, in case I fall asleep, even though I will try not to fall asleep. Imagine if I didn’t have sign language to communicate these things I want. I’d have to sit there and cry a lot until these things magically appeared. I could go to the fridge door and cry, but my Mommy might give me some juice instead of the milk I want. When I want something, I have no patience to wait, you know. No wonder researchers have found that signing infants have less tantrums and more contentedness and confidence.

I try to say words verbally too, but Mommy doesn’t seem to be able to understand my clearly articulated verbal communication. I think that she will develop better verbal comprehension skills when she gets older. For now, Mommy is delighted to be able to use sign language in order to better understand us little people.

My Grandmother is so impressed with this signing stuff. She wonders how hearing people ever used to parent without it. She wants to start signing with me too. Mommy is explaining to her that she can go to www.KiddiesSigns.com on the Internet. Within a few minutes, she can be in front of a fun, interactive, signing software from www.KiddiesSigns.com, with me on her lap. Together, we can learn and practice new, useful signs.

Thank goodness for sign language. During those frustrating years when my parents’ verbal comprehension skills are not so good, it allows me to communicate with my parents. I just love them knowing what’s on my mind!

The author of this article, Emma Rath, is actually older than one year old, and is involved with the www.KiddiesSigns.com software - fun, educational, interactive software to teach sign language to hearing babies, children and their caregivers.

Got Blog?

Filed under: Web of Blogs @ 9:46 pm

In 1999 I asked my friends and colleagues if they blogged. The responses I received ranged from odd looks to questions about the blogging practice. The end results of my findings was “Blog” was a new term and not highly recognized. That was then, a half million blog users ago.

Blogs have become and I do believe will continue into their plight of greatness for sometime, until a new technology slides into place. For the time being, blogs are a great way to define who you are to your visitors and provide dynamic content that the search engines go nuts over.

Clogged email boxes and spam eaters have taken a dramatic effect on the once powerful email marketing tool. As email marketing loses its effect, marketers and small businesses are seeking ways to fulfill this lost art of communication between staff and customers. Blogging could be that much needed answer for you.

SO what is a blog?

Blogs are a time and date stamped, easy to search, web based journal or self publishing tool. Blogs can have a corporate style, but in most cases are written by one person in a relaxed, candid atmosphere. True personality usually shines threw in the opinions of the blog writer. You do not have to be a writer to produce a blog. Even so, many blogs owners become recognized as small journalists, as the writer speaks their mind or offers self analyzed materials on their preferred subject matters.

You may think at this point, that a blog does not sound like a business tool.

Let’s take blogging into a business approach and see how we can benefit.

Problem:

Many marketing methods and advertising spiels fall on blind eyes and deaf ears across the net today with such a medium we have created where advertising is abundant and often shoved at us in every direction.

Solution:

Visitors will come to your blog of their free will to read your newest content of choice, giving you a higher ratio of targeted visits.

Problem:

Email marketing is losing ground. Overflowing email inboxes and spam filters that don’t deliver your ezine.

Soultion:

Using your blog as a web based area for your product and service announcements and updates. When someone subscribes to your blog or RSS feed, they will receive automatic updates that include the headline, summery and URL of your new entries.

Bonus:

Email gets deleted … Blogs get indexed in search engines!

Problem:

Internet marketing can be a nonpersonal medium, gaining trust becomes increasingly harder and more important to gain new customers.

Solution:

Blogging can give your visitors, existing and potential customers a great area to gain insight about the face you present to the world. If you’re a small business owner to a large corporate business, you can benefit by giving your company or web site personality via blog.

Now let’s take a look at blogs from another angle. Rss and/or live feed. You may be thinking, do I Really Need to Know About Rss?

Yes, but we are not going to give a full history of RSS here. What you need to know is that RSS is the “code” that underlies a blog. It includes a headline, a short summery of the entry and the URL of the page that the new story has been posted to. In order for users to subscribe to RSS feeds they will need to download a news aggregator. There are many available for free, we recommend NewsGator http://www.newsgator.com for its ease of use within Microsoft Outlook.

Visitors and other websites can syndicate your RSS feeds to their desktop, their email, newsreaders and on their own websites. Talk about getting the word around! Submitting your RSS feed, can get you listed in hundreds of new emerging RSS feed directories. Of course this will bring traffic to see what your feed is about to those looking to syndicate them to their own sites or readers. Also creating more links pointing to your site.

Let me touch on one of the most important features of a blog. Search engines love them. Most bots including google will visit and reindex blog pages daily. Yahoo will index your RSS free and quickly.

There are many ways and places you can begin your blogging journey. You should first decide if you want to house the blog on your site or let other sites manage your blog system. For this we recommend www.blogger.com, now owned by Google. The google toolbar has a one click Blog This button that can make blogging quick and painless. You can set the blogger.com blog files to ftp to your host for you so that your files are housed on your server. There are many blog services online today, and there are many free and low cost scripts that you can easily run your own blog from your site without the need of any other service provider.

If you would like to find out more about blogs and blog services we invite you to visit our resource section at http://www.masteradvertising.com.

We hope to provide many learning materials and resources for the online promoter using blogs and rss feeds for the online advertising medium.

Mind Urges Government to Formulate Men’s Mental Health Strategy

Filed under: Internet Legal Resources, Marketing @ 6:30 am

Mind, a non-profit mental health organization in the UK, has requested the Government to come out with plans to tackle men’s mental health problems. It has also asked employers to take steps to help their stressed male employees.

Mind recently carried out research, which showed that mental health in males has suffered seriously because of the economic slowdown and that they do not look for help even if they are suffering from stress and depression.

The research, which was facilitated by YouGov, took into account the opinions of 2,000 men and women. The results showed that 45% men are bothered about their financial situation and about 27% fear for their job security. The percentage of women respondents worried about their job was much lower at 22%.

The results also showed that only half of the male population were open about their problems and only 31% discussed them with their family members. In women, the situation was much better with 47% open to discussions with their family. It was also observed that compared to women, the number of men ready to look for professional help was also much lower.

The charity says that mental health related issues in men is as hidden problem and with about 2.7 million men in the UK facing depression, the situation needs to be tackled with urgency. It has also made specific recommendations to healthcare professionals, employers, and the government to deal with the situation.

School Funding for Southpaws

Filed under: Education Portal, Non-Assigned, Tutors Lair @ 5:57 pm

We do recommend you check out our terrific source for college scholarships for low income ideas…

Finding help in financing degree courses can be troublesome and may need time. Scholarships are different from a student loan because the funds are a grant, and, repayment isn’t needed. While searching ways of funding your academic degree, remember that funding is available in unlikely spots, for instance left-hander scholarships. Scholarships for Lefthanders: It may seem strange to provide a scholarship based on a predominant hand, however consider these facts: Albert Einstein was a southpaw, as is Barack Obama. Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, Sting not to mention J.F. Kennedy were also southpaws. Figures suggest up to eleven percent of the population are southpaws. Unfortunately in the past southpaws have known discrimination, nowadays they are thought to be intelligent and more artistic. Stigmatisation is not a problem anymore and lefties are no longer believed to be different, as a matter of fact they may even be associated with the many great individuals referred to above. Should you be left handed and researching grants specifically for southpaw students, many grants for left-handed individuals are accessible which you may be able to acquire. A Beckley Scholarship for up to 1000 USD is currently available at Juniata College in Huntington, PA. For students attending Juniata College and set up in the late seventies, this unique school grant helps a lot of southpaws obtain a university education. Whilst searching for scholarships, do be aware that some scholarships may have requirements or limitations. Sometimes certain grades may be necessary or certain monetary prerequisites have to be met. Apply for the maximum amount of scholarships possible to step-up the chances of graduating with a minimum level of debt. You should also consider community organizations, clubs and even hobby associated groups. Lefty programs aren’t the only case; funds are accessible in other circumstances for example to the children of veterans or if you are disabled in any way. You may need to spend quite a bit of your time exploring grants, of course the reward may potentially be huge. Employed along with student loans, they are effective in cutting the inevitable debt established by a university education. Be sure to research every opportunity. Do remember there are other options besides lefty grants - and do be imaginative! Go for everything you imagine you are suitable for, keeping your tutition costs to a minimum, and you will look forward to better prospects on leaving college.

Teens and Money: The 4 by 10% Solution

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 10:05 am

Most teens go into the work world ill-prepared to manage the money they will be earning.

Even if their parents have attempted to teach them about money, they still haven’t had the wonderfully frightening experience we adults have all had with it. You know the one it’s called “getting to the end of the money before the end of the month.”

Here are some tips on teaching teens about managing the money they are about to make.

The 10 per cent solution

Once they get a job, have them take the very first pay check and … blow it.

You might have been expecting me to say save it, buy a savings bond or something else responsible. Here’s why I suggest having them spend it: They get to experience the benefits of hard work and have some fun.

After the first paycheck, here’s how to handle every other paycheck for the rest of their lives. I call this the “10 by 4 solution.” With each and every pay check, take 40 percent and put it in four different places.

First 10 percent - Pay your self first. Put this 40 percent in some form of savings that you do not touch until you retire. Begin this when you are young, and it’s amazing what can happen. Pay yourself first.

Second 10 percent - Give it away. If you are a person of faith, you’ve probably been taught to tithe. Whether it’s tithing, or simply giving to a favorite charity, giving away 10 percent teaches your brain an interesting thing if I can give this away, there must be more than enough to go around. A nice way to feel.

Third 10 percent Put this 10 percent toward getting rid of any debt that may have accumulated. Money you owe your parents or some outstanding bills.

Fourth 10 percent Save it for something you really want.
For many kids, that’s a car. Or maybe a trip, a stereo or some
nice clothes.

In this way they learn from the beginning to live on 60% of their income. That would be nice for us as adults too.
