Short Hair Styles

Filed under: Accouterment @ 10:27 pm

Having a short hair style makes life comparatively easier to the modern woman. This is obviously because less time is spent on maintaining it! Your short hair style has to be chosen to match your personality, lifestyle, time constraints, face shape, hair density and eye color. It also has to strike a sense of balance between your head, body and face.

The ideal short hair style is one that boosts your confidence whenever you look at yourself at the mirror. If you have fine and straight hair, it shows scissor mark, so it is better to enlist the services of a good stylist with good talent for cutting your hair. You could try exploring hair styles that have short and heavy bangs or layered hair styles. Layered hair style for short hair creates an illusion of thickness to the onlooker. It is also better to avoid hair styles that involve razor cuts as they will only make your hair look shredded, unless of course, your hair stylist is a an experienced razor hair stylist. It is always better to avoid hair styles that need lots of blow drying as this will only dry out your hair and make it more susceptible to breakage. If you do have split ends, it is better to have your hair trimmed every six to eight weeks. Those who have soft and fine hair that is naturally wavy had better go in for a short, layered hair style. To top up on the effect of the short hair style, there are numerous hair care products that help you in adding volume and in giving the illusion of thickness to fine hair.

It is always better to look for a different hair cut style and inspiration from hair style galleries. This way you can choose the hair style that fits you the best. Just remember to consider your face shape and features when trying out a new short hair style!

Hair Styles provides detailed information about hair styles, black hair styles, layered hair styles, long hair styles and more. Hair Styles is the sister site of Corset Training.

5 Sure Fire Ways to Get Radio Play for Your “Independent” Music!

Filed under: Top Entertainment @ 3:20 pm

You have to find radio airplay time if you’re going to be heard
and we’re not just talking the local college campus. The trick
is called promotion. Now that doesn’t mean you just put your
press kit in an envelope with a demo and hope they take pity on
you. Perhaps you call a station and they give you the standard
pitch of, “Send it and if we like it we’ll put you in rotation.”
After a few months of never hearing your music, you
automatically think you’re not worthy.

First, don’t buy that. You’re one of hundreds, maybe even
thousands depending on your city. Your disc will probably end up
in the trash or, for more enterprising DJ’s, on Ebay in a
one-cent CD sale. If you want to be heard and make potential
sales, you have to stand out from the crowd, and in this jewel
of an article, I’ll show you Five(5) Knock ‘em Dead Ways to Do
Just That!:

#1 - Get your CD into the right hands. The intern that’s too
busy to getting coffee or typing up a report for the station
manager isn’t going to be the one making the airplay decision.
So find out who the head honcho is in that department and touch
base with them. If the club you’re playing at charges an
admission or you have a show coming up offer to send the
stations tickets to give away to listeners. Now keep in mind you
can’t give the tickets to the staff, since that’s illegal and
called payola, but you can offer free giveaway items to your
potential audience.

#2 - If you’ve got one station in your pocket, then drop names.
Let them know that WABC is playing your music and it’s getting a
great response.

#3 - Make genuine friends in the business. If you’ve got a disc
jockey that’s got you in rotation and really likes your sound,
get to know them. Find out why they enjoy it and see if they’ve
gotten any responses from listeners. If they haven’t, ask if
perhaps they might Q & A their callers about your music so you
get a feel for your target audience. It’s not a bad idea to ask
them for a testimonial or quote if they’re well known in your
area if you know them personally. People help people. That’s a
fact so if you treat your area disc jockeys like a living and
breathing human and not dollar signs, that’s a foot in the door.
Another good source is club owners. If they play your music and
the fans go nuts ask them to say a few words about your sound
that you can pass along to prospective stations, but be sure to
sit down for a drink with them. Ask them about the picture of
him and the woman and two kids behind the Magic Kingdom. Don’t
be fake, but be genuinely interested.

#4 - Network. Find out if someone you know (or someone they
know) has connections to the music stations. Remember six
degrees of separation - you’re only six people away from knowing
anyone on the planet and yes that includes station managers,
concert promoters and record execs. The trick is it takes a
great deal of work and time, but if you’re serious, it’s well
worth it.

#5 - Go local, state, national. Don’t think you’re going to skip
your local and state stations and be the next Matchbox Twenty.
It doesn’t work that way. Start small and then get big.

Making contacts and getting names can be tough, that’s why you
should start with a tested and proven music industry resource
like The Industry Yellow Pages - Music Industry Contact
Directory at http://www.TheIndustryYellowPages.com

The TIYP is helpful and loaded with contacts you can start using

Hair Loss Solutions - Bonafide Cures or Bald Face Lies?

Filed under: Building Beauty @ 2:19 pm

PART 1

Very much a highlighted news topic, the stem cell research controversy continues. Reasons for the “need” of research include possible help for persons with terminal cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury…and hair loss.

Hair loss is an important subject for the many men and women who experience it. The careless remarks and gratuitous jokes about baldness made by people with full heads of hair only add to their humiliation. Some people even experience anger that their hairline threatens to become as receded as the waters of the Red Sea for the Hebrews so many years ago.

Countless people wonder whether or not there really exists a cure for hair loss. Before we answer that question, we should first answer the questions, “What is hair loss?” and “What causes it?”

What is Hair Loss?

The term “Alopecia,” more commonly known as “baldness,” includes various disorders that involve the lack of hair where it would normally grow; especially when it involves the head. The most common form of baldness is a progressive hair-thinning condition that occurs in some adults.

Each piece of hair has a follicle located at the end of the hair shaft. Follicles act as the hair’s incubator;” it is where the hair is produced. Each strand of hair has a matrix, located at the base of the follicle. Cells in this area produce keratin, a tough protein that makes up the hair shaft, and melanin. Melanin stains the keratin, giving hair its color.

The activity of each follicle is dependant on surrounding follicles. Healthy hair follicles continuously grow. About 85% of the hair follicles on a healthy scalp are actively growing at the same time, and hair loss is not a problem.

Each strand of hair continues to grow for about 4 years, before going into a dormant period of about 4 months. On an average, only about 15% of the total amount of hair follicles on a healthy scalp is dormant at any one time. It is when a higher percentage of hair follicles stop growing at one time that hair loss becomes a problem.

What Happens During Hair Loss

Follicles are nourished by a network of capillaries, bringing nutrients to the base of the follicle. The amount of blood available to the scalp and to the follicles is determined by the health of the capillaries in the scalp, as well as the arteries in the neck and temple.

Problems develop when hair follicles do not receive proper nourishment. For instance, some women experience noticeable hair thinning after menopause, after the production of estrogen slows down or stops. Hair loss in women is usually more diffuse then in men. Women seldom have bold spots; a large area of the head may show sparse hair growth instead. Only about 15% of women are afflicted by such a high degree of hair loss that it becomes obvious.

In men the hormone DHT can harm hair follicles, making them shrink, or cause them to prematurely enter into the resting stage of the hair cycle. When this happens the result is often the characteristic U-shaped pattern of hair loss at the top of the head.

What Causes Hair Loss?

Predisposition can be one factor as to why one person begins losing their hair as they age, while another person does not. Various other disorders, such as obesity, allergies, and diabetes can also be attributed to predisposition. Sometimes hair loss can be the result of side effects caused by certain prescription drugs. Of course, these factors can often be countered.

Where you may not be able to reverse predisposition, you can sometimes contain it. By changing lifestyle, maintaining a customized healthcare regimen, and eating a well-balanced diet, many such factors can be alleviated or turned around.

More about Hair Loss

When it comes counteracting or slowing down the process of hair loss, products such as Rogaine, Dutasteride, and Propecia can help. Scalp exercises and massages using special preparations can also help.

Telogen Effluvium (TE) is a type of hair loss more common in women then men. It is characterized by high numbers of hairs that enter into the resting stage of the hair cycle, all at one time. This usually causes profuse shedding, as opposed to bald patches. This can be an overwhelming experience for women, especially those who once had luxuriant hair.

TE can be brought on by prolonged emotional or physical stress, severe illness, post-pregnancy hormone changes, or crash dieting. Once the triggering factor has been removed, TE hair loss usually stops. Hair can grow back in even without treatment, usually in 6 months to a year.

With proper treatment, hair growth can be accelerated. Some professionals recommend bringing the level of iron stored in the body up to 70 or 80 ng/ml (nanograms per milliliter). The range of iron normally stored in a woman’s body might be between 12 - 50; the lower end not high enough to speed hair growth.

Rogaine can also be used for a few months to start the TE recovery process; once hair does begin to grow back in, Rogaine use can stop.

As mentioned earlier, crash dieting can trigger TE in both men and women. As a matter of fact, diets of less than 1,200 calories a day can trigger sudden hair loss. This is especially true of diets low in protein. When the body lacks proper protein it “borrows” by shifting healthy hairs into dormancy to conserve protein.

Although hair loss resulting from inadequate diets is most often temporary, it can result in permanent loss of hair in persons genetically predetermined towards hair loss. Also, extreme weight loss in men can increase the production of androgens - male sex hormones that kill hair follicles. Once hair follicles are destroyed, there can be no re-growth of hair.

Marriage

Filed under: Relationships Portal @ 1:26 pm

Many questions arise in connection with this subject. Should the
wife obey her husband? What should be the attitude toward an
unbelieving partner in marriage? These and many related
questions arise from time to time as people seek to find some
set of rules by which to live the Christian life.

In the first place, we do not have detailed laws today as did
the Jews. We have to find for ourselves the good works which
were before ordained that we should walk in them. The secret of
success in the Christian life is to make ourselves available to
and for Christ so that He can work thru us.

Nowhere does it say that the wife should obey the husband. She
is to voluntarily submit. God has said so. We must take it that
this is the best course to follow. Who are we to question God?
But God also has a purpose for everything He says and does. We
need to be on the watch for what may be the reason.

There is a mystery spoken of in Ephesians 5:32. Some, who are
not careful in their reading, read into this that the church
which is the body of Christ is the bride of Christ. The Word
nowhere mentions a bride of Christ. The unity expressed by the
husband and wife being one flesh manifests the unity of Christ
and His church. This is the theme in this passage.

Since the church is today manifesting the manifold wisdom of God
to principalities and powers in the heavenlies (Ephesians 3:10),
how well this perfect relationship of husband and wife sets that
wisdom forth. It is indeed a mystery that husband and wife are
one flesh, no longer two.

Not only is the wife to submit, but the husband is to love. This
gives a practical exposition of the unity of the one body of
Christ.

In this relationship where the wife is never told to obey,
children and servants are to obey. But the parents have a
responsibility toward the children, and the master should be
careful with the servant. He also has a Master! To the world,
and also to the unseen powers, the Christian home can be a
manifestation of the one body and show that it does touch the
earth in its walk.

These truths also give new motive and zest to the family
relationships. All the members of the family can feel that their
duties and relationships reach right up into heavenly places
where their citizenship is. Let the husband remember that his
love, even though it be to an unsubmissive wife, shows forth the
love of Christ for His church. And the wife, by being
submissive, even to an unloving husband, can be a model of the
church which is the body of Christ.

The obedience of the children, even as the Lord was subject to
His parents (until 30 years old!), can add to this harmony and
witness. And parents can also show forth the love of the Father
in heaven by loving and bringing up the children in the nurture
and admonition of the Lord. Servants are to do service as unto
the Lord, making for greater harmony. And the master should be
careful with the servant, not mistreating or withholding wages.

Truly the home can be a great witness to truth. Let us all
remember that we are members of one another.

Unfinished Projects and What to Do With Them

Filed under: Online Lifestyle Resources @ 10:51 am

We all know how this story begins. Shopping at your local craft
store and something catches your eye. Impulse buy, in a manner
of speaking. You get it home, you open it up, you even organize
and begin the project only to find its more than you may have
bargained for! So you put it away for now and go on about life
as usual. Projects come and go and you get to the bottom of the
project bin and there it is again, the Unfinished Project! You
take it out, look at the parts and wonder will it ever be done?

How does a project become a UFP? Well, usually it’s something
that was too time consuming. However there are many other
reasons as well. It could have been more difficult than it first
appeared and you needed to learn more before continuing it. It
may have been larger than your eyes perceived. Perhaps the
pattern is difficult to read. Maybe the directions aren’t as
concise as you would like them to be and it leaves you wondering.

We’ve all done it and we’ve all had them. Now the question is
what do we do with them?

I had a UFP for about 2 years, then one day as luck would have
it my curious toddler lost some of the floss and a page of
instructions for me ~ and the first thought in my mind was
GREAT, I can Finally throw it out! Which is exactly what I did
with it, threw it out. This is our first option for your dreaded
UFP ~ throw it out.

Now you may think this is harsh but if it’s been hanging around
long enough to down right annoy you its time to part with it. If
your stitching (or any other craft) for relaxation and you dread
even looking at the project that is hiding in the bottom of the
project bin then it is defeating its purpose. We want to enjoy
our crafts, relax and relieve daily stress.

What else can I do with my UFP?? I’ve gotten too far to throw it
away now! This is an excellent questions. Below is our list of
suggestions and ideas for cleaning out your project bin and
either getting rid of or finishing all of your UFP’s.

1. TOSS IT! As we covered above the easiest option is often to
just throw it out.

2. Put it in rotation. Work on it every few weeks, or for so
many hours in between your other projects, eventually it will
become a finished project.

3. Donate it! ~ Many times I’ve seen just started or half
finished pieces for sale at the local thrift shop for a few
bucks. Someone will pick it up and hopefully it will bring them
enjoyment and relaxation!

4. Ebay it! ~ I have also many a UFP up for auction at Ebay! Yes
Ebay, the worlds largest marketplace has a large array of
unfinished handywork. In these cases the seller is generally
trying to recover some of their supply cost. They still sell
dirt cheap though.

5. Share it! Give it a friend that may be looking for a new
project or that might like to try something different.

6. Turn it into something new! This is the most flexible option
of all! Create something totally new and different than what it
was supposed to be. Examples: Were you making it a quilt and
just couldn’t take it anymore? Make a pillow with the pieces you
have done. Knitting or crocheting a sweater and just cant look
at it anymore? Use the finished part to stuff a pillow and save
the left over yarn for another project. Stitching a piece you
just cant bear anymore? Find a small portion that is finished on
it if any, cut that out and use in a patch work quilt or put it
in a small frame.

Now of course if you are really determined to finish the project
go ahead and stick back at the bottom of your project stash. ;o)
I wont tell. Maybe next year it will be less stressful for you.

Whatever you do, enjoy your craft!

Rediscovering Grilled Pizza

Filed under: Food + Cooking @ 2:26 pm

America’s favorite food has long been the pizza cooked in a
traditional oven but is that about to change? While most
Americans have probably never indulged in a grilled pizza, the
origins of pizza are making a big comeback. There is no denying
that we love our traditional backyard barbeque but rarely, if
ever has the barbeque included grilling a pizza. Despite the
seemingly odd combination of grill and pizza, the grill is the
ideal tool for cooking pizza and in fact is deep in the origin
of pizza making. The high, dry heat is ideal for a nice crisp
crust and the flavor provided from your grill will on a whole
new world of backyard grilling.

Before the word pizza was ever used, Greeks and Romans used
wood-fired brick ovens to prepare the original version of pizza
- flatbread. In ancient times each diner was given a piece of
flat bread along with a piece of meat on the bread. This food
was eaten with the fingers with an occasional knife to cut the
meat. Little did they know that this would eventually spark the
creation one of the America’s favorite foods.

Grilled Pizza Techniques:

Ingredients: 1 teaspoon dried yeast 1 tablespoon soy oil 1
teaspoon sugar cup warm water (110F) 1 cup bread flour 1
tablespoon soy flour 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions: Combine yeast, sugar and cup very warm water in
bowl, let sit for five minutes. Combine flour and salt in bowl.
Mix yeast mixture with bowl containing dry ingredients. Add a
little extra flour if dough is sticky. Knead for a good 10
minutes. Put into a greased bowl and let rise for 60 minutes
until it doubles in size. Turn out onto a floured surface then
knead lightly until smooth. Roll out into a ” thick, 12″
diameter circle. The thinner the dough is rolled, the better.

Before placing your crust on the grill, be sure that your grill
is both clean and well oiled. This will help prevent the dough
from sticking to the grill. You will need something large enough
to transport your dough to the grill. A pizza spatula is highly
recommended for this task. Brush an even coat of extra virgin
olive oil on the side that will be facing down first. The oil
will introduce flavor and help to keep the dough from sticking
to the grill as well as giving the crust a nice crisp finish.
Before placing your pizza on the grill, you may want to remove
the top rack of your grill to make it easier to flip your pizza.
Cook the first side from 1-3 minutes before flipping depending
on the heat of your grill. During this time you will need to
brush olive oil on the side that is facing up. While cooking the
first side, peak under the edge of the crust to monitor its
finish. Cook until you are satisfied with the finish and then
flip your crust over. After flipping, immediately apply any
topping that you would like. It’s highly recommended that you
keep the topping very light, as they will not have a chance to
cook on the grill without burning the crust. You may consider
precooking certain ingredients such as meats and thick
vegetables. Be sure to lower the lid as soon as possible to trap
the heat in and finish cooking the toppings. Cook the pizza for
an additional 2-3 minutes or until you are satisfied with the
crust’s finish.

You are now ready to experience one great pizza with deep
tradition. Cut your pizza into triangle shaped slices or try
cutting them into 1″ wide strips. This shape is great for a
party snacks!

Wealth Building - A Simple Solution to Get Your First Million

Filed under: Online Investment @ 12:52 pm

Your wealth buidling program success begins with reducing spending as well as increasing income. This simple three-part solution is used by millionaires. You can join their ranks.

One Millionaire’s Fool Proof Method

I once accompanied a millionaire to a local grocery store where he went to the checkout with a newspaper and asked me if I had any change as he patted a pocket without a wallet. He never took a wallet and always needed “change”. That was first my first lesson in how millionaires’ reduce their spending. Try it and you’ll be surprised.

The Power of OPs

The same principle is used by real estate investors who use other peoples’ money. Of course you have to prove you make good deals - buying low selling high - to make the money work for itself. Lenders seek you out to offer funds at great rates. That reduces your spending big time.

The Barter Charter

A radio station owner once bartered advertising time for a large consignment of can openers. He sold them on air for way more than the air time value. He created wealth without spending a cent.

You can use this simple three part solution to reduce setup spending and get your first million by putting to work, the One Millionaire’s Fool Proof Method, The Power of OPs, and The Barter Charter.

The key is to maintain a ‘can do’ mindset, use what you’ve got that may have more value to others, and find creative ways to have other people invest in your wealth building program.

Your only limitation is your imagination.

What Is A FICO Score?

Filed under: Credit + Ratings @ 3:35 pm

Your FICO score or credit score as it’s commonly called is a very important calculation that can control whether or not you are eligible to receive credit and if eligible the terms you can receive credit under. Failure to understand the impact this score can have on you future purchasing power and lifestyle can be disastrous. This article will break down all the information you need to know regarding your FICO score.

As I mentioned above the FICO score is a numerical score that is based on your financial history as collected in your credit report. Creditors can use this number to evaluate whether or not you are able to pay a loan back on time. The higher the score the more likely you are to pay off a loan on time and the less of a credit risk you pose.

The FICO or credit score ranges are broken down as follows:

720-850 - This represent the best score range

700-719 - Able to obtain favorable financing terms

675-699- This is still a decent score range

620-674 - May have trouble obtaining favorable credit terms

560-619 - May have trouble obtaining credit

500-559 - Time to improve your score

Your credit score is broken down into 5 distinct categories each with their own importance based on a percentile. The 5 categories and the percentage they represent I relation to your credit score are as follows:

Payment History - 35%

Amounts Owed - 30%

Length of Credit History - 15%

New Credit - 10%

Types of Credit Used - 10%

Your payment history contains information on credit cards, retail accounts, installment loans, finance company accounts and any mortgages you may have had. It also details any past due accounts and the amount owed on hem. You will also find bankruptcy information as well as other adverse information in regards to your credit history. This is why it warrants a 35% piece of the pie.

Your amount owed is generally speaking the amount owed on any accounts you currently have and number of accounts with balances. Note that it has a large impact (30%) on your credit score. The length of your credit history details when accounts were opened and the last activity on those accounts. New credit shows the number of recently opened accounts by the type of account and number of account inquiries. Finally the type of credit used is a snapshot of what types of financing you have held.

Other information that is included in your credit report but has no bearing on your FICO score includes your race, age, where you live and your sex and employment information. Although the FICO score doesn’t use these factors the employment information may be used by other companies and creditors to help in their decision making process.

There are three major credit-reporting agencies - Equifax, Experian and TransUnion that have your credit information on hand. Each of these credit bureaus maintains their information separately, which can cause the financial data to be slightly different among the three of them. Most experts agree that in order to get the best snapshot of your financial history and credit worthiness it is a good idea to request a report from each of the reporting agencies. It is also highly recommended that you actually review your credit report once a year in order to identify and correct any errors before they cause any future potential problems when you apply for credit. Recent changes in the laws no allow for consumers to request 1 free credit report each year in order to look for any such errors.

Here is the contact information for each of the three reporting credit bureaus:

Equifax: (800) 685-1111, www.equifax.com
Experian: (888) 397-3742, www.experian.com
TransUnion: (800) 888-4213, www.transunion.com

As you can see your FICO Score is a very important number that represents your financial trustworthiness in the eyes of creditors. Failure to properly monitor it could cause you future headaches when it comes time to apply for any form of credit.

KVB: Whoever Wins, We Lose

Filed under: Political Stuff @ 12:51 pm

While the rest of the world watches, Americans will be voting on November 2 to either re-elect George Bush, or John Kerry. You can be sure that as citizens of the earth, we all have a vested interest in the outcome of this election. The most powerful nation in the history of the planet is at war with terror, and terrorist organizations. This war started in New York City, on the infamous date of September 11th, and has now gone from Afghanistan to Iraq. Iran and her peoples are especially concerned, as they are most likely the next targets of the Bush administration. Slogans like “Vote or Die” are being shouted across that nation. The nation is almost equally divided, as history threatens to repeat itself after the Bush-Gore controversy in Florida. Kerry has vowed not to let that happen again, but how could he possible prevent that from happening? And if he does becoming elected, will America, much less the World, actually become a safer place?

The main thing about Bush is, you know what you get. He is a puppet on a string. A sock with a face painted on. A nothing. A nobody. His handlers and party leaders tell him what to say, while the corporations that have bid the highest get to dictate foreign and domestic policy. But you know that, or at least you know what the outcome will be as a result of his re-election. The Americans will continue to wage war. The gap between the haves, and the have-nots will widen. Jobs will be shipped to other countries. Nothing new. The same as the last 4 years. If the Americans didn’t complain enough then, there is no reason to believe they will complain much louder at the end of another 4 years. The flip side to this is control. George Bush will maintain control of the people. Money is power for the republicans, not opinion. There is no money is losing control over your country. Should people start taking the law into their own hands, they will be punished quickly, and severely. Bush would stop anarchy from spreading.

John Kerry. Here is a man that joined the army because of his own ideals. When he came back home, and found that public sentiment was against it, he went with them. He was one of them to the point where he made a public demonstration of throwing away his army medals to make a statement. Except he still has the real ones. He put replicas on his army jacket. Fast forward to pre-9/11. Kerry voted to reduce funding to intelligence gathering, and the military. In the wake of the attacks in New York, Kerry became a Bush supporter, and followed public sentiment that more should be spent on national defense and the armed forces. Kerry backed all of Bush’s war efforts, until public sentiment turned against Bush. If Kerry is elected, he will be a West Coast style President. He will be a surfer, riding the waves of public opinion. Problem what that is, it is a proven fact that when a mass of people are confronted with a negative situation, problems arise. Problems become hysteria, and hysteria will lead to bloodshed. It is possible that in the event of another terrorist attack, John Kerry will fan the flames of public angst instead of putting them out. He will be slow to react, causing those people who would be naturally opposed to stir those who would be normally neutral.

Both Bush and Kerry are members of a secret organization known as the Skull and Bones. There have been movies about them, but at the core of those movies there is truth. This society was created to elevate its members into positions of power. Most of these men today are either in office, or executives in Fortune 500 companies. No matter who is elected, there are companies that stand to gain more than others. It will be the job of either Bush or Kerry to keep the average Joe content enough to let it happen.

Pay Off Debt - Debt Management Tips

Filed under: Your Finance Resources @ 6:54 am

Paying off debt is a great feeling, plus you save thousands in
future interest payments. Your credit score improves with
reduced debt levels, qualifying you for lower rates on future
credit. Plus, you have more financial freedom to pursue your
dreams, not weighed down by bills. To help you reach your debt
elimination goal, follow these tips.

Analyze Your Bills And Expenses

Taking a look at your bills and living expenses to help you
understand where you are losing the most money. Find out your
account balances and interest rates. Also tally up your living
expenses.

Next, write out a budget for yourself. Decide how much you need
to live on. The rest can be split between debt elimination and
savings. While paying off debt is your ultimate goal, building
up your savings will help you avoid using additional credit for
future financial emergencies.

Lower Your Interest Rates

To speed up your debt elimination plan, trade in your high
interest accounts for a lower interest plan. This could mean
opening a low rate credit card or consolidating your debt with a
home equity loan.

Before you open a new credit line, check out rates and fees.
Closing costs of second mortgages can make lines of credit and
credit cards look more favorable. Finally, compare plans with

Get Some Help

If you find it difficult to manage your debt, turn to a third
party. Debt management companies handle your monthly payments
while lowering your interest rates. In most cases, they can get
you out of credit card debt in less than five years.

For more serious debt problems, you can turn to a debt
negotiation company. They can eliminate part of your debt with
some creditors, making your monthly payments more manageable.
Just know that there are tax and credit implications.

Before signing up with any company, do your research. Avoid
companies that make claims that sound too good to be true - such
as instant debt elimination. The best companies partner with you
to rebuild your credit and help you manage your debt.
